Managing bookmarks, browsing history, and downloads in Edge on Windows 10

Earlier this morning I powered up a computer I hadn't used since September. I was not connected to the internet at first. I opened Edge and searched through my browsing history and found the links I was looking for dating from July. Then I decided to connect to the wifi, and as soon as it was connected to the internet, I saw the July search results disappear, leaving only a September search result. Now if I search the same keywords I searched earlier, I do not get the results from July anymore.
Does this mean Edge by default only keep 3 months of browser history and when it connected to the internet it erased the older results? Or did I just press something by accident? My browser history is still there, but I try searching websites I visited in July and it gives no results now, even though they were there this morning. Is there a way to retrieve them now? I didn't have time to save the results because I had no idea that connecting to the internet would erase the older history.

Hi, I'm Elise, an independent advisor and I'd be happy to help with your issue.
There isn't anything set to automatically delete the history at 3 months, so I am not entirely sure why this would have happened. Unfortunately there wouldn't be a way to retrieve this data is lost though.
Kind Regards,
Elise
Hi LilasLilas,
If you haven't already, I would recommend sending feedback about keeping history longer than three months.
Eric
Same here. Edge chromium seems to clean up old history
Old Edge kept history 3 months. I don't know how new Edge (Chrome based) behaves because it upgraded only 2 months ago on my machine.
