How do I display captions during a picture gallery slide show?

I have a photo album in picture gallery. I've added captions. I want to run a slide show WITH the captions showing at the bottom of the slide during the show. How do I do this? The captions don't show up currently when I run the slide show mode.

I noticed by reading through many of the questions that the forum moderator whom I assume is a Microsoft rep or someone else listed as from Microsoft will answer some of the questions but not all.  How can I get a Microsoft rep to respond to this issue?  I realize that there aren't many reviewers of this particular question on this forum but from my experience, not everyone knows about this posting of this question or this forum.  So I can deduce that there are probably many more people that would like to have the answer than just the two of us.

If there isn't a way to make this photo program display descriptive information on the photo during slide show I would like to find one that will.  Can anyone help with this?  Any suggestion is welcome.

Thanks to all for your help.

    Hi Richard

Thanks for your response.  I had begun to think no one was reading these posts.  At least now I know for sure that the feature isn't included and I can begin looking for a program that does.  I like photo gallery a lot and was hoping someone had developed an add-in that would modify the program.  I do understand the liability issues of recommending third party software though.  I can't tell you how much I appreciate your response.  Gives me a good feeling about the forum.  Thanks.

    Hello bikebunny60,

The caption option you are referring to only adds title to the photo's property and will not appear when played on WL Photo Gallery's slide show. About Dissed's post on Windows Media Center, the caption will turn into the photo's title when played via slide show (in Windows Media Center), the caption will not appear in the photo but rather show as a detail together with the date and ratings.

You might be looking for a feature which is not available on WL Photo Gallery. If it is about adding captions which will show as text in the photowhile on slide show, then we recommend you post a suggestion about this on our feedbacks page via http://feedback.live.com.

    Thanks and best regards.

Right click one of the files, and click on open file location,

The file will open in windows explorer and along the bottom of the page you will see a short list of information about the file captions should be one of the details listed under the (Title) listing.

Without making a video/ wmv of the files and or burning them to a dvd disk,

You can use windows media center,

All you have to do is to open wmc,

Go to settings, then pictures, then slide shows,

Check the boxes for the information you want to appear, captions in this case. save you can also adjust what type of slide show you want it to show by default and it will use that slide show for all of the folders you select in the future without having to make video files out of every folder or tag listing.
