Recover Lock Screen Picture

I updated to Windows 10 but my lock screen picture didn't save. Luckily I found my background picture online. The lock screen picture was an online picture.

    Hi Ammaar,

    Thank you for your response.

    As you have upgraded to latest version of Windows, settings might have set to default. So we would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below to search image and check if it helps.

    1. Open File Explorer and click on C: drive.
    2. Click on View and check the box next to Hidden in the Show/hide section.
    3. Then click on Users > Username (your username) > AppData > Roaming > Microsoft > Windows.
    4. There you will find folder by name LockScreen_A, LockScreen_B, etc.
    5. Kindly look into the folders and check for the picture.
    6. If you do not find, try following the path mentioned in step 7.
    7. Go to C: drive and click on Windows > Web > Screen.

    Thank you for your response.

    In this case, do you remember saving the image(picture) file on you computer?

    If you remember the file name, we would suggest you to open This PC and search with file name in search bar at the top right corner of the window.

    Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

    We’d like get more information regarding this issue.

    1. Current build Version and edition your Windows 10 is running, (Type winver into the Cortana search box, then hit Enter)?
    2. When you say “Lock screen picture didn’t save”, did it go back to default lock screen picture?
    3. Which version of Windows you were using before updating to Windows 10?
    4. Are you referring to Windows Spotlight Lock Screen Images?

    Kindly provide the above details in order to help you fix the issue and if you have downloaded the picture from online, try setting it back as lock screen picture.
