I'm not used to using the board. Also, forgive me if the question was already asked, but I had not find anything on it. My driver for System Firmware listed under the Device Manager is version 10.0.17134.1 (21/6/2006). Someone brought to my attention that there should have been an update to 2016 version. However, I am unable to update the driver, both automatically and manually using the device manager. Even electing for receiving updates for other Microsoft products using the Windows Update seems to not flag the Firmware's version.
My question is, is the System Firmware update critical? If so, is there any way for me to manually do it since the system seems to not detecting it as an issue.

Uninstall it with avastclear you'll find on editor's website

I told you, just type winver + enter in search area
As you don"t seem an expert and your pc is running fine, there is no need to update drivers that work perfectly well

Your system is fine, that is the standard Firmware Driver that cane with version 1803 of Windows 10, there is absolutely nothing to worry about . . .
Click your Start Button, type winver and hit Enter
On the resulting dialog, what Version No. of Windows 10 are you running?
If you are running version 1809 of Windows 10, you are right up to date, if you are still running version 1803, you are a small bit out of date, but nothing to worry about
If you do want to bring your PC up to date, click the link below, then click 'Update Now' on that page to immediately get 1809 and bring your PC right up to date

What is your antivirus ?
What is the exact version of W10 (winver command) ?
Are you running a Dell PC ?
You generally Don't need to force drivers update, even if you do not own the last version.
It os useful to manually update drivers only in case of problem.
This date 21/6/2006 is not the real date but a way for Microsoft to identify preinstalled drivers, Don't worry for that

I am trying to update them because there had been some weird freeze sometime during usage. I am simply assuming (might be wrong) that it is because of age, since the laptop is nearing 4 years. Thus my assumption that the outdated drivers are to blame. And because I'm still studying, I prefer to preserve this laptop rather than get a new one since I have all the necessary programs installed.

Can you please provide a screenshot of this 'System Firmware' you are referring to in Device Manager . . .
10.0.17134.1 refers to Windows 10 version 1803
May I ask, who brought this to your attention, was that on a web page on the Internet or a phone call by any chance?
