Hello all,

My computer started getting these weird black lines on the screen. I asked a friend of mine, and he said the pixels had died. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I need to study with this constantly. Any help will be appreciated.

Hi, I'm David an independent advisor and user just like you. I'll try and help you solve this problem.

That looks like a problem with the actual lcd panel (ie. the physical screen). I assume those blacks marks stay exactly the same no matter what is on the screen (IE. while loading Windows, logging in, on desktop, etc)?

The answer would be to have the screen replaced - this is a simple job for a repair shop to do for most laptops. Doesn't usually cost too much either.

    Regards,

    David

I am not sure about price and it depends on the damage and country which you are living.

The best way would be contact device manufacturer's support, since they are trustworthy.

    Hello David,

Thanks for your reply. How much does this generally cost?

There are two scenarios, one it could be temporary pixel dead and if you search, there are programs which could perform repair on affected part and fix it. However, if that didn't fix, it could be hardware issue and you will need to repair the display. You could check this with your device manufacturer's support.
