Why Do I Need A Windows 10 Certified Mouse?

I have had an issue for the past several months regarding double clicking with my mouse buttons. I have tried literally everything besides a full system wipe to address the issue. I finally found another article that states something regarding a Windows 10 Certified Mouse. It states that they do not have this issue, and yet anything else will continue to have it happen. This leaves me with 2 questions. What actually qualifies and a Windows 10 Certified mouse, and if what I read is true, why is it even required to address it? There's a reason why a computer requires a mouse to work, and to force a specific type of mouse to make sure there aren't any issues is completely stupid and unnecessary

I've had the double click speed set to both the highest and lowest setting it can go, as well as swap the main click button, none of which have any change

I would like to state for the record this has nothing to do with my mouse. What I am using right now, which is a Logitech G502 Hero, is less than a year old. On top of that, I have tested this issue with multiple mice, both new and old as well as wired and wireless. I have also had this happen on 3 separate Windows 10 systems, 2 of which are still active and used daily. The issue persists no matter what combination I used

And in case anyone is wondering, this is the post I am referencing in regards to the whole "Certified" part

Agreed. No such animal as a Win10 certified mouse.

If your left click is erratic it's probably wearing out. They don't generally just stop clicking one day.

An exception would be if the mouse is a relic from say XP and it uses a profiling software to assign custom keys to the

    side buttons, etc.

In this instance if the software has not been updated to Win10 it may not function properly, and old wireless could also have issues.

but this would not cause erratic left click behavior.

    Hello Zer0Studioz,

I use an inexpensive mouse. No problem. If your mouse has a problem regarding double clicking, likely its mechanical switch has a problem. To make sure, try another mouse.

Hi Zero. I'm Greg, eleven years awarded MVP, Volunteer Moderator, and Independent Advisor here to help you until this is resolved.

I've never heard that before and I've been in forums every day for eleven years. It may be aggressive marketing because there isn't anything like a certified WIndows 10 mouse, any more than there's a certified Windows 10 monitor or keyboard.

What matters is to get a good reliable mouse that you like, fits your hand and works well all the time.

I like this mouse the Logitech 325 notebook mouse:

I wouldn't believe everything you read on the web, without researching it and asking the people who know - which you did!

Let me know if there's anything else.
