Go to Settings > Privacy > Background apps and turn off all background apps, except Windows Defender. - Disable startup apps.
Open Task Manager and go to the Startup tab, and disable all unnecessary startup apps. - Defrag your drives.
In Windows Search in the taskbar, type Defrag and click on the app named Defragment and Optimize Drives. Select the Windows-installed drive when it opens and choose Optimize option. Let it finish, or during the process, choose the next drive and repeat the same steps. Do this for all the drives shown there. - Cleanup your Windows drive.
When it finishes, close the thing and type Disk in Windows Search. Choose the app Disk Cleanup and when it opens, choose the Windows-installed drive and click OK. When it finishes scanning, choose all the options and click Cleanup system files. Choose the Windows-installed drive again and hit OK. When it again finishes scanning, choose all options and click OK. When it prompts, click OK or similar button. Dramatically slow performance
My Windows 10 laptop has been dramatically slow for the last 8-10 days.
It has 4GB DDR4 RAM, Core-i5 7200u processor, & HDD 1TB harddrive.
Nowadays most of the time the RAM and Harddrive look 100% full.
What should I do?

Hey there Adeeb!
It seems like the process which is consuming so much RAM is MsMpEng.exe which basically is Windows Defender performing a virus scan. Let's check something: try disabling Windows Defender for a second and see if the usage goes back down.
It's just a test so we can take some action on Windows Defender. Let me know how it goes.

Hello, friend. Maybe the hard drive and RAM space on your computer is full, so try by removing the unwanted files and programs you don't want, and end useless processes that are running in the background through the Task Manager. It might make the pc a bit more faster, as it once even happened to me. Try these steps, if they don't work, the Microsoft Helpers are always available!

My name is Miguel Ángel and I'm an independent advisor, also a Microsoft user just like you! I'll try to help you with this issue.
First of all, could you please upload a screenshot of the 'Performance' tab? Also, inside 'Performance' go into 'Resource Monitor', sort them depending on their memory usage and take another screenshot so we can have a look at it.
Is it something that is always happening, or is it just temporary?
We'll surely fix it. I'll be here.
Miguel Ángel :)
