Hi. We have just bought a HP Eliteone 800 G5 Desktop Mini. When it was first connected up used we had no trouble with it at all. The next day we turned it on there was the sound coming from the desktop. This never happened the first day. With the sound coming from the desktop speaker it has cut out our monitor (Panasonic T.V.) sound as well as our sound bar. This only happens when we turn the computer on not when just using the T.V. We have tried many things with no success. Can you please advise us how to rectify this problem???

Hi Louie.
We are well, thank you!
We did try the troubleshooter but had no luck.
We eventually got onto HP Support & A Gentleman named Meyank was very helpful & solved our problem.
For one .... we had the display port cable in the wrong display port hole. After this, which fixed the sound,
he sent us a link to HP Image Assistant which updated all the drivers at once. Mind you this is a brand new
elitedesk mini ( now 3 days old ) & it had 9 drivers that needed to be updated. We did this & the unit is
going great! We had trouble with the Microsoft Edge too but we soon sorted out that we needed to swap
over to our usual Google Chrome. Once we did this we could set up the computer to how we "like" it.
Thank You So Very Much for trying to help us out!!! Your time is very much appreciated!!!
Stay well & keep safe in these hard times!!
All the best.
Kind Regards,
David & Kris
Hi there! I'm Louie, a Microsoft Community member and a fellow Windows 10 user like you. Hope you're doing well and safe there.
I recommend running the troubleshooter. This tool is designed to check for any misconfiguration on your drivers and repair them for you.
In the search box on the taskbar,
You can also launch the troubleshooter from audio Settings.
Select Start > Settings > System > Sound > Troubleshoot.
Should the issue continue, you can refer to this support article for further troubleshooting. The links have steps on how to troubleshoot sound issues in Windows 10.
