Hello,

I've been getting ping spikes during gaming a lot but only during the day, I've reinstalled my drivers, factory reset my PC, done every command in the book, called my ISP, done repair install, changed my DNS server, done media creation tool, turned off looking for wifi with the following command "netsh wlan set autoconfig enabled=no interface="Wi-fi"", and still nothing works, I need help ASAP because this issue has been frustrating and I've reached out to multiple people who still havent solved my issue.

Thank you,

Parsa.

You called your ISP and what did they say your ping is to that game server? They wouldn't tell you that I'm sure as they won't do it lol.

You can probably do nothing about it. The game's server location compared to yours is going to create the most ping and there's absolutely nothing you can do about that with games where you can't control that.

At least you learned something I'm sure about everything you tried. But, all you need in general is to hook lan cable into computer and play game. Everything else is of so little benefit and if you touch the wrong things can later backfire on you or in ways you didn't anticipate. You can't take the hole out of the road or move the building 2,000 miles away to next door or move the user with poor ping affecting other players so they have great ping and your ping stays better.

Its a multiplayer game. Game sports people laugh at it over the internet. Its full lame issues out of your control. If you want to be serious about it, it bites back.

    Hey Greg,

is it okay with you if we do a quick assist, so you can try and see the issue, I'm not very good with computers since I only play the game.

    Sincerely,

    Parsa.

Parsa, are you sure you tried every step in every link I gave you? I asked for you to report back results of each step in each link so I could try to figure out what else to suggest.

Let me know how the metered connection works.

I'll give you everything to go over your network connection so that at least something will work. Even if you've tried some of these steps already please do them over in sequence to see if it makes as difference:

    1. Update your network adapter drivers from the PC maker's Support Downloads web page using the full model number, HP Serial Number or Dell Service Tag on sticker. Compare the latest drivers available for download with the ones presently installed in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start Menu. Make sure you have the latest BIOS or UEFI firmware, Chipset, Display (Video), Sound, USB3, Bluetooth, Network and all other drivers, or else download and install the latest now.

If you have the latest network driver then try on it's Driver tab also to Roll Back, or Uninstall and then restart PC to reinstall the driver. Try also all older drivers from Update Driver > Browse > Let Me Pick list working backwards.

    1. If this was caused by Windows Updates then you can check which were installed at Settings>Update & Security>Windows Update under Installed Updates, then uninstall them from the link there, and hide with the Hide Updates tool downloaded from here: https://www.howtogeek.com/223864/how-to-uninsta...

You can also use System Restore to get before the problem began, then check for Updates with the Hide Update tool and hide them.

If this was caused by Version update then you can roll it back in Settings>Update & Security>Recovery and then hide it until it matures using the Hide Updates Tool.

    1. Go to Device Manager > Network Adapters, select network adapter in use, click on the Power Management tab, clear the check box to "Allow the computer to turn off the device to save energy." Then click on the Advanced tab, disable any energy-saving options.
    2. Enable IPv6 in the network adapter settings: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/90033-enabl...
    3. Run the fixit from https://support.microsoft.com/help/929852 (Re-enable IPv6 on all nontunnel interfaces) and reboot.
    4. Right click the network icon in System Tray at bottom right end of task bar to Troubleshoot Problems. Choose trying to reach a specific website and put in a URL it won't open to trace the reason. Then run it over and choose your Network adapters to troubleshoot.
    5. Try all of these steps: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/fix...

https://www.thewindowsclub.com/windows-10-netwo... (Avoid ad links which intrude into editorial copy, especially avoid Restoro ad)

https://windowsreport.com/pc-not-connected-inte... (Avoid ad links which intrude into editorial copy, especially avoid Restoro ad)

    1. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > WIfi > Manage Known Networks, highlight and remove the network having problems, restart PC to see if it shows up again.
    2. Try plugging in by ethernet cable to the router to compare, then plug the ethernet cable into the modem (if separate) to see if this might be an issue with the router.
    3. Try powering off modem, router and PC and then restarting in that order with 1 minute in between each. You may need to reset your router or even optimize it following these steps:

    https://www.lifewire.com/resetting-a-home-netwo...

    https://www.pcmag.com/article/258865/how-to-set...

Your router manual is always available from the manufacturer's website for your exact model.

    1. You also are entitled to Support from your internet provider to get online on all devices. This is always included in the monthly bill. If your router is less than a year old they will also Support getting it connected and optimized.
    2. Another option is you could replace the wireless adapter with an inexpensive USB nano adapter like this one:

    https://www.amazon.com/OURLiNK-600Mbps-Wireless...

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

    Hey Greg,

I've done the ping plotter test and everything seems to be normal, I've tried to play wired, and the issue still seemed to be there, and I've ran multiple tests to see if it was a network issue, and it wasn't. I've turned on a metered connection, but I'm not sure if that would work. I am currently at a dead end and I've done everything possible to try and fix this issue, but nothing seems to work,

    Thank you,

    Parsa.
