Hi Team,

Im having issue with a few users using LENOVO laptop getting BSOD constantly. System thread exception not handled - Failed mtkwl6ex.sys BSOD. I google it and found out its related to wifi driver. Tried to uninstall and reinstall driver, perform windows update/ laptop driver ( BIOS ) and perform sfc /scannow with no luck. Any advise on this?

Thank You.

Halim

I have same problem on t14 gen 2 amd, maybe it occur by MediaTek Wifi Driver. If your laptop use MT7921 wifi chipset, pls update driver version 3.00.01.1239 (it's still not update in lenovo vantage, use google instead).

No BSOD anymore, but chrome still suddenly crash.

    Hi Abdul

Your minidump files do only list that MediaTek WiFi device driver (mtkwl6ex.sys) as the cause oof the system crashes.

Over the last week I have seen at least 20 people with the exact same blue screens caused by that driver, I think there must be an incompatibility with a recent Windows Update, check the MediaTek website to see if they provide a patched driver

Thank You Dave for the advise. will let you know the updates.

    Hi Halim Abdul

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Please check to see if your PC is producing any minidump files, I will check those to see if they provide any insight into a potential cause of the system crashes.

    Open Windows File Explorer.

    Navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump

Copy any minidump files onto your Desktop, then zip those up.

Upload the zip file to the Cloud (OneDrive, DropBox... etc.), then choose to share those and get a share link.

Then post the link here to the zip file, so we can take a look for you.

Allright, will do Dave. Will get back to user tomorrow and perform a remote session. 👍🏽💪🏻
