Logitech C930e webcam microphone not working

Hi all, my Logitech Webcam C930e has suddenly lost all microphone function. Video feed works perfectly but audio does not. In Zoom and Teams, for example, a message appears saying "microphone not detected." , as it appears that it is isolated to the C930e and 1 of 2 USB microphones specifically.

I connected an older Logitech Webcam C615 to the same USB port and the Video and Microphone both work perfectly.

When I go into the Sound Settings in Windows 10, and aim to test the microphone, the C615 tests perfectly. However, when I switch to the C930e, the Sound Settings menu freezes. Only when I unplug the C930e from the USB port is the Sound Settings menu functional.

When I look in Device Manager, both the C930e and C615 are listed under "Sound, video and game controllers." However, under Äudio inputs and outputs," the internal Microphone is listed, as is "Microphone (HD Webcam C615)", but there is no C930e listed. Perhaps that is the issue?

I have tested Microphone Access for all Apps

I have uninstalled the driver for C930e, rebooted, then reconnected the device (note: it appears that C930E uses generic MS drivers).

I have tested different software, etc.

Any help please! Thanks.

Had same issue, following some steps from a reddit back from last year.

Install Logi Tune from Logitech (https://www.logitech.com/en-au/video-collaboration/software/logi-tune-software.html)

Once installed make sure camera shows in the application > check to see if the camera is up to date through the Logi Tune

Go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone and disable the feature

Go to Device Manager and uninstall all camera devices for the C930e

    these will be under

    • Audio inputs and outputs
    • Sound, Video and game controllers
    • Universal Serial Bus Controllers

if you don't use any other Logi devices it is best to uninstall any logi devices from those three sections.

Once uninstalled unplug the camera and restart the computer

When the computer is back on go back to Settings > Privacy > Microphone and enable the feature again, make sure all applications are enabled.

Reconnect the camera then if you check in device manager under Audio inputs and outputs the camera microphone should appear now and if going to Settings > System > Sound you should be able to manage your sound settings.

This solved the issue for me! Thank you!!

Hi we have same problems and sometimes it works not always. And we have 500 webcams so this isnt good option to resolve it on every device.

We working with Logitech to resolve this and the say:

During my testing I have found a known issue on Microsoft side that may be causing this particular issue for you. It seems there is a known issue with the SST audio drivers than have started preventing drivers and connections from webcams and microphones to the laptop due to the Windows driver. Considering the work around available, it would make sense that a driver would cause the issues you are facing. I would like to attempt to update this to a newer version and restart the laptops to make sure the new driver version works on the laptops that currently are facing issues.

The information as is as follows:

Go to https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=7767 and download the .cab file best suited to your laptops OS version.

    Unzip the folder if needed.

Go to Device Manager > Audio and Video game controllers and find the Intel Smart Sound Technology for USB.

Right click and select Update Driver.

Instead of auto update, select update from driver and navigate to the unzipped folder you previously downloaded.

Once installed, restart the device and test the Microphones once more.

Once tested, please reply with your updates and I will be more than happy to look into this further if needed.

So we are now testing on some laptops to see if this wil help. You need the driver with the MEDIA version.

    Good luck.

Your catalog link above does not seem to query or find any results in the MSFT Catalog site. Can you provide the exact namke for the .cab file?
    Thanks!

See Logitech support as it sounds like a failure of the device
