BsoD Can't run sfc scannow, can't restore, can't do anything

I was working in DaVinci when everything crashed, and now I can't start Windows.

I tried to restore and it worked the first time, but then I opened the project again and it crashed again (at least I know it was definitely the cause...)

Now system repair kicks in but then I get to the blue screen telling me that system restore can't fix my PC. I have tried just about everything I could find, but whatever I do, I run into an error.

When I restore to a point, I first have to enable the drive in C: with rstrui.exe /offline:C:*windows*=active, then I can restore but it just ends up with an unknown error, though one time it showed me "system restore failed to extract the file mrt100.dll".

When I try to run sfc/scannow, I get Windows Resource Protection Could Not Perform The Requested Operation.

When I try to reset windows, I just get an error message right away, no matter if I choose to keep my files or not or if I use the cloud or local method.

The only thing that works is chkdsk, but other than running without an error message, it doesn't fix anything.

Any idea on how to proceed?

Hi jul42KK,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

If none of the options password in the Recovery Environment are working for you, then, you will need to create a bootable Windows 10 USB on another working PC and boot your PC from that, then rather than installing Windows 10, select ‘Repair this Computer’ that will give you access to the Recovery Environment from there

Try each option in the Recovery Environment on the USB, including Safe Mode...etc.

Click this link:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

to download the Media Creation Tool (Click on Download Tool Now), with that you can download the latest Windows 10 ISO (Select Create Installation Media for Another PC), you can create a bootable USB flash drive (min 8GB) using that tool

Then, Boot your PC from the Installation Media you just created (change Boot Order in your BIOS)

Thank you! Unfortunately none of the repair options worked, but at least I was able to reinstall windows and use my PC again.
