My microphone sounds very robotic and fuzzy everytime I talk

On a windows 10 PC, I have come across a problem where my voice sounds robotic and fuzzy. When I try to talk my voice distorts and makes me sound robotic, my voice cuts out and becomes fuzzy and some points. This problem is happening not just exclusively on 1 website/application but my entire pc as I've tested it on windows settings sound test playback (or whatever its called) and I hear my voice sound the exact same. Robotic and fuzzy.

The problem started when my PC crashed and all of a sudden when I joined a call it made me sound robotic and fuzzy. I had a few things open which could be apart of the problem but I'm not really tech savvy:

Parsec - Screen sharing app

OBS - Recording

Medal - Recording

Discord - Calls/VC

Skype - Calls/VC

Multiple forms of search engines - Google, Windows Edge, Opera GX. (Total of like 42 something tabs all together)

Steam - Gaming

Cuphead - game

I've checked if its packet loss (I don't know what it is but the tutorial I googled said I have 0 problems with it through command promt - ping 8.8.8.8 and packetlosstest.com) and have done everything I could that tutorials and websites could offer but couldn't fix it. And its not a cable issue as I've brought a new mic and swapped it out with my old one through a different port.

I've dabbled in external voice mods such as Voicemod and VoiceMeeter but its never been a problem and I've reset my computer fresh since using both applications.

My PC specs: (if this helps)

Windows 10

NVIDA GeForce GTX 1660

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-9400 CPU @2.90Ghz

16GB of RAM

222GB of SSD

Windows for home | Windows 10 | Devices and drivers

    Hello ,

Good to see you in Microsoft Community.

You can follow the steps below:

    1. You can adjust the audio enhancement settings for that microphone. Win + R to open "Run", type "mmsys.cpl", press Enter to open Sound > Recording tab > right-click your microphone > Properties > Enhancements tab, adjust the Audio Enhancement and relative settings.
    2. Check your microphone settings: Right-click on the speaker icon in the taskbar and select "Sounds". Click on the "Recording" tab and select your microphone. Click on "Properties" and then the "Advanced" tab. Make sure that the default format is set to the highest quality available (e.g. 16 bit, 48000 Hz).
    3. You can run the audio troubleshooter. Win + Q to open the search box, type "Find and fix problems with playing sound" and press Enter to open the  troubleshooter and follow the prompts.
    4. Try a different USB port: If you're using a USB microphone, try plugging it into a different USB port to see if that resolves the issue.

If the problem still exits, you can uninstall the microphone in Device Manager ("Win*" + "X" > "Device Manager" > "Audio inputs and outputs" or "Sound, video and game controllers", find* your microphone device*, then right click > "Uninstall device"*), then reboot to see if it works. The system will automatically search and install the driver suitable for your device generally.

If it still does not work, you may go to the official website of your device manufacturer to download the corresponding model driver and install it manually. After the installation is completed, reboot and see if the device works properly.

If anything is unclear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards,
