TCP Ports aren't allowing access from the outside but still show they are working in the command prompt.

TCP Ports aren't allowing access from the outside but still show they are working in the command prompt. We have an app developed in Android we put in a handheld device. The handheld accesses SQL server on the laptop. We can't seem to get the handheld to connect to the laptop. Have done this on several other Laptops in other parts of the country but not mine...and I am the one testing and launching.

We used an online service to try to access the TCP ports and it says none available. Yet when we look at the command prompt, it shows many available and working.

We have tried everything we can think of from:

  • Stopping Windows Defender
  • Stopping Hitman Pro
  • Trying to reach from 3rd party online app
  • Took Laptop offsite to another location and used iPhone as a hotspot
  • Went into settings and told it to accept "inbound" & "Outbound" from port 3000...and tried other ports.

and others.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Ken
