Teams Webcam Keeps Defaulting to 250 Zoom

I have a Logitech BRIO webcam on my Windows 11 system and am using the new Teams app on my computer.

I regularly am part of Teams video meetings daily and have the constant problem of my webcam zoom always defaulting to 250. I want to reduce the zoom to 164 so my head doesn't fill up the entire screen.

I regularly change the zoom using the following procedure, but to no avail:

  1. Open Teams
  2. Click the three dots at upper corner to open "Settings and more"
  3. Click "Settings"
  4. Click "Devices"
  5. Click "Open camera settings"
  6. Click the "Camera Control" tab
  7. Change Zoom from the default of 250 to 164 so the video of me isn't only my entire head
  8. Click "Apply" and get out of Teams.

Again, problem is that the system always defaults to 250 zoom.

I've gone into Control Panel and uninstalled my webcam and software, and reinstalled by just turning the computer off and on with the webcam still installed.

I've gone into the Windows Settings under Apps, then Installed apps, and did both a "Reset" and "Repair" of Teams

I even wiped out all folders and files where Teams is resident on my computer.

But it keeps on defaulting to zoom 250 that focuses on my big old head.

Do I need to buy a totally new webcam and try that out?

Help, please! Thanks, Gary

I would have preferred an actual fix for the issue here, rather than having to hunt for it somewhere else or being sent to some other forum. Seems to me passing the buck is a favorite past time for support forums.

    Eben:

This is all taking too much time for me right now. I have a job outside of Teams troubleshooting. I scanned the web for hours today on this issue and Microsoft must know that New Teams made it worse for users in many ways. For me and others, camera zoom control doesn't stick after adjusting and is a big frustration. But it might be a problem with my Windows 11 camera control because I have the Logitech G Hub software and my default zoom isn't sticking there either. I will continue using Teams or switch back to paid Zoom, I'm not sure yet.

Thanks for trying, but I'm done.

    Gary

I tried posting my original message to the Teams forum you recommended but I kept getting "Maximum flood limit reached" and I'm not allowed.

So I closed out and re-signed in the Teams forum, and it redirected me to go to another site for technical issues, which I believe is this forum. I just reposted the same message separately.

Sorry, but nothing seems to be easy here.
