***Please add these default links to every thread so that time is no longer wasted searching threads for the latest posts***

When searching a thread for the latest posts a lot of time can be wasted.

A comment can be posted nearly anywhere in the thread.

It can be hard to find a post unless every "show" is clicked.

At the top of each thread please create links to:

a) expand all "show"
b) click the latest email links that were transmitted to subscribed members

This is an example:

This is the link that opens the thread after clicking questions and scrolling to a thread:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/426950/windows-10-feature-update-20h2-failed-to-install.html

These are the email links that open to the latest two posts:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/426950/windows-10-feature-update-20h2-failed-to-install.html?childToView=668510#comment-668510

Please offer these links on the top of the thread so that members can immediately view the latest two posts in the thread.

In summary, please offer these types of links on the top of each thread:

a) a link that expands all "show"
b) a link that opens to the latest post (the link that was sent by email to a thread subscriberl)
c) a link that opens to the second latest post (the link that was sent by email to a thread subscriber)

Hi

I give up. I tried to find your latest comment, said to be :
Docs-4663 commented • 25 minutes ago

It probably does lurk somewhere in the thread, maybe in a hidden comment, or maybe on the forum at Q&A@mars.com.

Anyway, if there was a Nobel for persistance, you would get one :)

LOL.

It was hard to find the latest comment in this thread too.
So the evidence "speaks for itself".

I've been using ctrl + f and entering the user name.

This fails though unless you spend the time looking for and expanding each "show".

Lots of time is wasted searching through threads.

That time would be better spent supporting more threads or supporting threads in a faster response time.

Hi
Today, 20 Feb, I received an email telling me of a new comment in a thread I had participated in. I duly logged in, probably 20 seconds later after the email arrived. The thread, prior to the new comment only had 2 posts each of one line. That is all that was there - no new comments or posts of any kind.
After smashing my computer, fixing my computer, reinstalling everything, logging back in to Q&A, there was the new comment - at last I could read it!

Wake up microsoft, it's not rocket science, hundreds if not thousands of other can manage to produce working forums!

In order for ctrl + f to work and display results all of the "show" must be clicked

Please improve the Microsoft Q&A website so that there are 3 links on the top of each thread:

1) a link that expands all "show" so that ctrl + f can find any entry
2) a link that opens to the latest post (the link that had been sent by email to thread subscribers)
3) a link that opens to the second latest post (the link that had been sent by email to thread subscribers)

There was no find result displaying 52 minutes.

Time was wasted looking for the post.

Please offer two links on the top of each thread similar to the email links.

Members can then click on the email links to immediately view the newest post.
(If it was deleted then no time will be wasted using ctrl + f)

A search for ColinTurner-9063
displayed only 1 entry on page 1.

When ctrl + f was used on page 2 in again displayed 1.

There was no new post found for ColinTurner-9063.

Time was wasted searching for the post on each webpage.

How much time must we waste looking for "show"?

Please fix the layout for each webpage so that it is easy to find the latest post.

For example on the top of each webpage please post 3 links:

a) one link that expands all "show" so that ctrl + f can be used
b) the latest link sent to email followers
c) the second latest link sent to email followers

Having these three links on the top of each webpage will make it easy to find the latest post.

Ctrl + F for CarlaGuintoVillanueva-9697 displayed 5 results.

None were from 45 minutes ago.

Time was not wasted looking for "show" to click.

Please improve the Microsoft Q&A threads so that each thread has 3 links on the top to click:

1) a link that will expand each "show" so that ctrl + F can find more entries

2) an email link that had been sent to all thread followers (newest one)

3) an email link that had been sent to all thread followers (second newest one)

Same concern, but I couldn't erase it even after following the prompt - or maybe what I encoded was wrong? File name that shows is APznzabieuqtAMN3br4reokvdAu1mHQJI0eyFvfrHplAO_4fEAUcQGR58EAChovGVAQXgFHlTriZWqeMtmnUyD4wYESn2fbzJ8WhoCBnjXtqRvVkwbNzOLLkQSp_Sx-G0TIgOqfxt-LgY_ADfa-WKtSNX_Gn5Obtt6wgt6vQHPSZ2zdeqxO7iUV8wMrMvR2UM6gpFqnh4NMPVd6OZu-Eg_WXXpacXNzMu5ErOcIzlzoZWDhg91rom9JBSEe

Also, may I know if this is a bug/ virus?

Many thanks.

The above was found in the thread.

How come this entry displayed 4 hours ago and the thread displayed: published • 45 minutes ago

How come it took 3 hours and 15 minutes to move from post to publish?

And this question https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/676619/can39t-delete-folder-called-com1-on-windows-server.html contains numerous points where comments need to be expanded in order to conduct a time-wasting and error-prone search for any newly made edits or new comments added to the discussions.

Surely there has to be a better way to allow the community to easily keep up-to-date with items of interest.

The thread reported that the last post was 4 hours ago and search with ctrl + F displayed nothing close to 4 hours. The closes was 1 day ago.

So much time is wasted search threads for the newest post.

Please improve the Microsoft Q&A website so that members can quickly view the latest post.

Consider the following:
a) place a link on the top of each thread that expands all show so that ctrl + F is able to search all thread entries
b) place a second link on the top of each thread that was the same as the email link that had been mailed to thread followers
c) place a third link on the top of each thread that was the same as the prior email link that had been mailed to thread followers

displayed: 1/1 on page 1

displayed: 1/3 on page 2

Members have to search each page using ctrl + f to find the latest post.

This thread as of today only had two pages.

This is extra work for members to have to search each thread page to find the latest post.

If the post had required a "show" to be clicked members would have to search for each "show" first and click it to view the hidden posts.

This is also additional work to find the latest post.

Had a "show" been missed the latest post could be missed.

Please improve the Microsoft Q&A website so that members can quickly find the latest post in any thread.

Suggestions:

a) Post a link on the top of each thread to expand all "show" so that ctrl + f can be used without having to search and click each show

b) Post a link on the top of each thread for the email notice that had been sent to thread followers

c) Post an additional link on the top of each thread for the prior email notice that had been sent to thread followers

With these three links members should be able to quickly find the latest post.

The more the number of webpages in a thread the more important to have the feature to go to the latest post.
