Microsoft Teams "Mute on/Mute off" Audio when using headphones

I have used teams for virtual meetings going on 2.5 years now and have used my AfterShokz headphones the whole time without any issues. Since the last update, my headphones now say "Mute on" or "Mute off" whenever toggling the button during the meeting. What is WAY worse is that it now beeps twice every 5 seconds the meeting is on mute. It is extremely distracting and makes the headset absolutely unusable for teams. This was an awful addition and needs to be remedied quickly.
I do not know if this problem exists for other headphone types, but for someone who has to be in meetings all day and needs headphones due to the working environment, the AfterShokz, which are open ear headphones, are a necessity, but now they cannot be used with your product.
Please fix!

Thank you Alexander, this is the best reply I've found about this topic. Unfortunately this quick fix must be repeated every single time you unmute and mute again on Teams (at least on Windows 10, I didn't try on Windows 11). As said in other discussions, if you use Teams for Mobile then you don't have this problem. It is clearly an issue with Teams for Windows only - don't let Microsoft telling you that it's an issue with your headset ...

This has been bugging me for some time. Found a workaround in another thread (thank you BartekP-9535!) that is working for me so far (AfterShokz headset)

Note: I needed to restart the "Bluetooth Audio Gateway Service" for the change to take effect

I've found a workaround. Please set the following entry in the register to "0":

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Bluetooth\Audio\Hfp\AudioGateway\Enabled

Probably it also affects another setting, but I have no negative impact.

YA, I get this all the time as well since I use a soft phone and I'm on a teams call at the same time. When I mute it mutes and unmutes on both. I got around this by having a secondary microphone
