How do I change Planner theme from dark to white?

Before the update my planner was in white theme, the way it should be (may be controversial, but that's how I like it). The next day I got the brand-new, flashy Planner, but it was in dark theme. I planned (pun intended) to change it right away, but there is no toggle like on other Microsoft sites, such as microsoft365.com. Anyway, I'm not planning (god, stop me) on giving up and will keep looking for a way to switch it back to white theme. If anyone knows how to revert this change, please let me know. Thank you in advance.

    Dear Gytis Petruškevičius,

Good day, thanks for your question on this forum, I will be happy to help you.

Based on our current investigation, planners do not have a dark mode feature available yet; however, there are plans to introduce this functionality in future updates according to Microsoft's roadmap. Currently, the dark theme for planners mainly depends on the browser's default mode and the background theme.

    • Please ensure that dark mode is enabled in your browser settings.

    Browser Settings:

    • If you’re using Chrome or Edge, ensure your browser theme is set to light.
    • For Chrome: Go to Settings > Appearance and choose a light theme.
    • For Edge: Go to Settings > Appearance and select the light theme.

    System Theme (Windows):

    • If your Planner follows your system settings, go to Settings > Personalization > Colors and switch to Light mode.

And secondly, select the white background theme

Also to get a better understanding about the issue can you provide a screenshot of the place you mentioned has the dark theme.

Please provide feedback to our developers about adding a dark theme toggle for the planner. I believe having this option would be beneficial.

I am also having the exact same problem as user Gytis. My supervisor is also having the exact same issue. I have white mode as the default for everything. But suddenly after the update, only my MS planner went into dark mode. I go to Settings > and then there is no Appearance button. This is absolutely infuriating. I can't even upload screenshots here to show the issue.

Same problem. UI not following Chrome's mode setting, no options to change mode in Planner settings. 0/10

It looks like we’ll have to pay for this kind of customization. Only the Premium mode offers access to appearance changes.
