Hyper V VM Unable to connect to Internet

My host computer is Windows 11 23H2. I am running a hyper VM that also is Windows 11. The VM will not connect to the internet. Here is what I have tried:

It is important to note that this VM was working perfectly fine a week prior. One afternoon it stopped working.

  • Create new external virtual switch
  • Uninstall/Reinstall Hyper V from Windows Features
  • Fully patch/update my host machine
  • Tested with WiFi and Wired ethernet connection, both failed.
  • Uninstall all network adapters from my host machine.
  • Run SFC /scannow & DISM Repair (both found no corruption).
  • Run In-place upgrade
  • Update home Router
  • Disable Windows Firewall from Host and VM.
  • Created a new VM which also had the same problem.
  • Tested with a Linux VM, also same problem.
  • Restored the VM to the previous checkpoint (which last connected to the internet, but still would not connect after the restore)
  • Install the latest Network Adapter drivers
  • Perform a BIOs update
  • Perform netsh reset of network adapters.
  • ipconfig /release & /renew
  • Create a legacy network adapter which failed.
  • Confirmed the host file did not contain any invalid entries. Same for the VM
  • Confirmed no statics were assigned to host or VM
  • Assigned Static IP to host and VM.

I did read where the Hyper-V Extensible Virtual Switch (Properties of network adapter in control panel) does in fact need to be enabled on the host for this to work. I am unable to enable this feature. Each time I attempt to enable it, it states the feature will be disabled. (Not sure if this means its already enabled).

Other Info:

Whenever I create a new external virtual switch and assign it to the VM, the VM will receive an IP address from DHCP, show up on the router, and "show" as connected to the internet for about a minute before disconnecting. (Note, it was never truly connected to the internet). I am able to ping 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8 and get a reply, however nothing ever resolves. If I manually set DNS as 8.8.8.8, 1.1.1.1, or 8.8.4.4 the machine will show connected to the internet and stay connected but nothing ever resolves. I am not able to reach sites by IP. I would like to use my default virtual network switch rather than creating an external one.

Given that this is affecting all VM's I suspect its an issue with my network card, however would like to see if anyone has had this issue and what their resolution was.

Update - I have installed VMWare Workstation Pro and my test VM can connect to the internet. This leads me to believe the issue lies with Hyper V. Is there a more in-depth way to fully uninstall Hyper V?
