I used to just hold CTRL key down and increase using the mouse scroll wheel. But in researching where the slider in lower right worked, but mine was grayed out. So today I found the Zoom in the ribbon, clicked it, set my preferred size, checked Remember my preference and it now opens the Reading Pane with text large enought to read.

Hi, DavidMishan

Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

According to your description, you want to change the font size in the Outlook main reading pane and folder list. I understand your confusion.

Only the email font can be changed in the Outlook desktop app, but the font size in the main reading pane and folder list cannot be changed.

You can adjust the font size in the main reading pane and folder list in Outlook (classic) by the following methods.

  1. Adjust the "Scale" in the system. The steps are as follows:

Close Outlook (classic).

Click Start>Settings>System>Display>Scale. Select the percentage that suits you.

Reopen Outlook (classic).

  1. Adjust the text size displayed in the application. The steps are as follows:

Close Outlook (classic).

Click Settings>Accessibility>Text size

Select the text size that suits you and click "Apply".

Reopen Outlook (classic).

I hope the above methods can help you! Looking forward to your reply!

If these methods still do not meet your requirements, you can click [Help]] > [Give Feedback] in the Outlook (classic) menu bar to submit feedback to Microsoft.

Thank you for your understanding!

Best regards

No, your instructions only changed the main text in Outlook. My issue is that the email text for a new email and to respond to an email is so small I can't read it. I have had this issue for over a month and I am fed up. No one has attempted to contact me and the only email I get is that my issue has been resolved! WRONG it has not. HOW DO I GET ASSISTANCE WITH A PRODUCT THAT I PAY YOU AN ANNUAL FEE TO HAVE IN MY HOME, MS OFFICE 365.

Hi Took me a while to work this out too - along the top where it says home/view/help - select view, then along the ribbon you will see the zoom option, here you can then adjust to a size that suits using the +/- options

I have found this helpful (after being a little frustrated by all the responses):

In Outlooklive.com : to increase the reading pane size -

In the upper menu there should be HOME, VEIW cand HELP tabs.

Select VIEW, under that menu, select ZOOM

The pop up will allow you to increase the reading pane size for all messages.

    Hope this helps.

    Jeanette
