I have updated my windows yesterday. Now I am unable to open the File Explorer. It instantly crashes whenever I try to open any folder.

Steps I tried with no avail:

  • check disk
  • starting in a Safe Mode
  • removing Bad and BagMRU in registry

Hi Slava,

I'm Paul and I'm here to help you with your concern.

It could be a bug with the recent Windows update, I recommend that you uninstall the recent update.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/how...

If that doesn't help, try to use System Restore to restore your Windows to the point before the issue persists.

To open System Restore, Press Windows Key + R > Type and enter: rstrui.exe.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted.

Hey Paul, thanks for a quick reply.

I've tried uninstalling update like you've said but it had no effect. However, System Restore did the trick.
