when i start my laptop, and before i even put my PIN in i'm offered Candy Crush Saga - whatever that is. How do i stop this happening. It's outrageously intrusive of Microsoft to do this. It's just another manipulative waste of time. By the way - what pre set category should i use for this enquiry?

Hello. Oh noooo not the most addicting game in the world. Candy Crush Saga! hehe. Yes do not install it, it will make you want to eat candy and it has been legally defined as a adicting game. I played it a few times but I did want candy but my mind works a tad bit diffrent then others i guess because I did not get addicted to it. Kind got bord after a wile maybe it was to easy for me dunno. I think it is in the correct Security and Privacy section. Maybe if you had a fellow family member that played that game then the little ad to come back to play would show up. Just check to see if it is installed and if it was feel free to uninstall it

Hi Janet, I am John J.D., a fellow Microsoft user like you.

I understand your frustration. Dealing with persistent ads can be really annoying, but let's try to troubleshoot this together. I'm here to help. It is possible that these ads are from Windows Spotlight. Are you currently using it in your lock screen settings?

If so, please try turning it off by going to Settings (Win + I key) > Personalization > Lock screen > Personalize your lock screen, and choose Picture, then restart your PC and check if issue persists.

Let me know how it goes.

    John J.D.

    Thanks John,

I'm not using Windows spotlight (well, i never elected to use it, who knows what Microsoft decides for you.) I have never installed anything like Candy Crush and no one else uses my account r laptop. For some reason this response has come to my work account). I'll try your solution when i am back at my own laptop.
