The snapdragon OS questions on compatability

Okay, I curretly have the surface 3 laptop. I run scrivener, word, ProWriting aid, affinity suits (all three programs) and photoshop elements on it.
With the new OS snapdragon elite, or the other snapdragon one, is it compatible and allow those programs to run? I can't get rid of any of them so I need to know. Obviously word should work, but the other four programs I have been trying to figure out.
I don't want to get a different brand of laptop since I love my surface, but I need to upgrade the screen size, ram and storage. There is a lag and sometimes the programs struggle with lag.

TYIA for your help!

    Hello Annie,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

It looks like you're going to buy a new Surface Laptop 7 to replace the Surface Laptop 3 you're using, but you're worried that the apps you're using are incompatible with ARM systems.

Naturally, you don't have to worry about Word, because all Office programs will work on ARM-based devices.

    About Scrivener.

The official system requirement for the application is Windows 8 and above, with a minimum resolution of 1024x 768px, but the application appears to be available only in x64, and the developers have not released an Arm version.

    About ProWriting aid.

The official system requirements are Windows 10 1903 or higher, and Windows 11.

I tested it on my Surface Pro X, which is an Arm device. In the Edge browser, I can install it as an extension on the Edge browser. However, the official does not specify whether the software supports Windows 11 Arm, I tried to download it from the official website to test, but I was completely unable to open the download address, or click the download link after no response.

Three applications about Affinity Suits: Designer, Photo, Publisher.

They all support Windows Arm, which is clearly listed on the website.

    About Photoshop Elements

We found the information that Photoshop supports Arm processor on the official website of Adoble, but did not specifically mention Photoshop Elements. Moreover, when querying the information, We are aware that a customer in the Adoble community has reported an error when installing Photoshop Elements 2024 on a Surface Pro 11(Arm) device: Error 16, although the issue appears to be permisence-related, it appears to be able to be installed in Windows 11 Arm.

Therefore, I think you may want to check with Scrivener, ProWriting aid, and Adoble's customer support to make sure they are fully functional on Arm devices.

If the latest response you receive is that there is no ARM-compatible version, then expect to consider buying a Surface Lpatop 7, I recommend you consider the Surface Laptop Stuido 2(x64):

If there are any other questions, I can answer them as best I can.

    Best Regards,
