Error code 0x80070426

I am able to browse the app store, but once an app is selected the "Install", and "Buy" buttons  wont load, so I'm unable to download or buy any new apps.  If I click on the back arrow or the link for "Home" or "Your Apps", sometimes the buttons appear for a split second before moving to the selected link.

When I click on "Your Apps" and "Updates", they  won't load either, I just get continuous rolling dots.

Also, my emails aren't loading in the email app. I have gone into Change PC Settings, then Users and it asks me to sign in with a Microsoft Account.  I typed my Microsoft Account details in, and it says "Please Wait" and I get the rolling dots again for about 30mins, then there is an error message:

"We're sorry, something went wrong.  Your account wasn't changed to this Microsoft account.

Code: 0x80070426. "

Can anyone help me fix this issue please?

I have been playing around in windows services and found that the cause was a disabled service called

Microsoft Account Sign-in Assistant, once I changed to automatic delayed and started it, the account changed successfully. hope this helps.

Well, you can refresh your Windows PC as It can solve the issue. I actually refreshed my pc and get the problem done away. Any information about restoring (if you like), refreshing or resetting the pc you can go to this link for instructions -

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/windows-8/restore-refresh-reset-pc

Remember, if you refresh your pc, it will keep all your files (even if it is in d or e drive) but will delete all the application you have downloaded or installed from cd. Your apps form store and application that was initially there during your first start of windows 8 will be kept. +

Hope it will work for you

I am having the same problem and its a new computer about 2mths old. I did have an account when i first got the computer but was having issues and deleted them to start over again. A friend did tweak a few things and i do recall her turning my sync thing off.

I ran what you said above and Issues found were

    Problem with Microsoft Account Policy.

    Sync Microsoft account policy settings.

some settings have sync turned off

turn on sync for individual settings

I cant change the sync issue as it says i need to sign in with a Microsoft Account and thats the problem im having in first place. so in a bit of a hard place atm. sigh. help!!!!
