When enter the variable name or keyword such as "let" or "const" of the defined variable on the console of the Microsoft Edge browser development tool, the last letter will be automatically selected.


After that, if type any characters or Spaces, the selected character will be replaced by the value you typed.

If I enter the code in the usual way, the selected letter will be replaced.


If that is convenient, please tell me how to avoid such problems.

I use the same version of Edge but I can't reproduce the issue. It looks like that your cursor is in insert mode in devtools. You can press Insert in keyboard to check if the cursor can become normal mode.

If it still doesn't work, I suggest that you can restore devtools to default settings according to Restore default settings.
