Managed account showing up twice, preventing login to MS apps

I have Intune installed and I am trying to log in to Outlook and Teams, but every time I enter my credentials, I receive this error: "The apps on this device are already managed. Only a single managed account is allowed on a device. Select the account you want to remove. This account and all associated data will be removed from all managed apps." Both accounts listed are exactly the same. When I select either one, I am complete logged out and have to complete the process again only to receive the same error. I've attempted to reset my settings and remove and reinstall the Intune management profile from my phone with no luck. Can you please advise on how to fix the error? Thank you!

    Hi @I Thanks for posting in our Q&A.

    Unfortunately you can only have one managed account on most of the apps on a single device. So if the user is a member of two tenants, or has two different accounts on a single tenant, they will not be able to set both accounts if they are both covered by an app protection policy. Have a look at: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/fundamentals/end-user-mam-apps-ios#manage-user-accounts-on-the-device

    Allowing multiple accounts is one of the most requested features around MAM and you can submit your application at uservoice,. Hopefully it will be addressed by Microsoft in the near future.

    So step by step:
    I went to settings -> mail -> accounts -> iCloud -> found on the bottom my Mac, my 2 old phones and my new one -> deleted the old phones -> after this I had no issue anymore with the login

    @Jarvis Sun-MSFT

    Thing is, that this is not multiple accounts - it's the same account listed twice.

    I have a user with the exact same issue. User stopped at the company two months ago and has returned a week ago.
    AD account is the same, but the AAD object has meawhile been deleted (does after 30 days after users is deactivated) and has a new GUID now.
    I think this is the cause of the error. App sees the account as a different one, altough id, email etc. are the same.

    The solution I have not found. Deleting the Outlook app and starting over, doesnt fix it.

    Suggestions appreciated.

    Any movement on this? We recently found we have at least a couple users facing the same scenario. Re-enrolling the device in Intune, removing and re-adding Outlook, and attempting to delete one of the duplicated user instances all result in the same error still coming back up.
