Hi,

I am having trouble resetting my Azure AD password. When trying to reset it asks for a two-factor code in my app. I do not have my codes anymore. I have access to the cellphone number and email address associated with the account, however; there is no way to use them as the second verification method. I can't reset it using an admin account as this is the only admin account we have.

    Hello @Keanu Mellett ,

Welcome to the MS Q&A forum.

I am sorry to hear you are not able to login to your account.

Did you mean you locked Azure Global Admin account? If no, password could be reset by Password Admin, Privileged Auth Admin, etc. Depending on your role assignment.

In the following table, the columns list the roles that can update the sensitive attributes. The rows list the roles for which their sensitive attributes can be updated. The following table is for roles assigned at the scope of a tenant. For roles assigned at the scope of an administrative unit, further restrictions apply.

There is additional steps what could be used to reset the password:

If you have a new mobile device, you'll need to set it up to work with two-factor verification. This is a multi-step solution:

    1. Set up your device to work with your account by following the steps in the Set up my account for two-step verification article.
    2. Update your account and device information in the Additional security verification page. Perform the update by deleting your old device and adding your new one. For more information, see the Manage your two-factor verification method settings article.

    Optional steps:

    1. Install the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device by following the steps in the Download and install the Microsoft Authenticator app article.
    2. Turn on two-factor verification for your trusted devices by following the steps in the Turn on two-factor verification prompts on a trusted device section of the Manage your two-factor verification method settings article.

Hope above answers your questions and concerns.
