stop copying email to other account

Have an Outlook (win client 2018) (on 365)- several users have two outlook accounts. One that is personal, one that is shared.

When a user opens an email (WITH an attachment), that has been saved in the shared account, it copies this email to the personal account.
(if there is no attachment, this does not happen).

Ideally, this should not happen. Is there a control in outlook (or on 365) that governs this behaviour ? is there a log file to look for to dig deeper into this ?

thank you

    Hi @Eirik Simonsen ,

    Welcome to our forum!

How did you add the shared mailbox?
And do other users who add the shared mailbox encounter the same issue?

As i know, some rules will impact this, it's suggested that you could check you've created a rule similar to the following figure for the shared mailbox.

If there're no such rules for the shared mailbox, it's suggested that you could remove your personal account and configure it in a new profile(Control Panel>Mail>Show Profiles>add) to check if there're any differences.

    Hi @Eirik Simonsen

I would attempt to switch the primary Outlook account to see if this corrects your issue.

Here is an article for switching your primary Outlook account:
