Convert a service account into a gMSA account

Hi!
So I've got an existing normal service account with a bunch of permissions in our company servers. Now, I'm migrating the infrastructure to containers for Windows and have to use a gMSA account in order to integrate said containers with ActiveDirectory.
Is there any way to convert the service account I'm currently using into a gMSA account ? I understand that I could create a new gMSA account and assign same permissions to it, but I was hoping to avoid that.

Thanks!

As far as I know you couldn't convert it. Read on here.

Permissions for the most part apply to objects, not the user so there not really a good method to just copy.
