Usually .csx script is used to run any test/sample code in the Azure portal. If you would like to debug your code locally, then I would suggest you to use the C# (.cs files) that comes as a part of .net 6 templates rather than the .csx. It is easier to debug the code and deploy it to Azure runtime as you have Visual Studio and VS code support. Also the assemblies and packages can be installed using nuget package manager which is easier to manage.

Previously we discussed (in the other post) running C# inside an Azure Function App. The topic of this thread is (supposed to be) running C# in a github workflow (and my desktop)... So I already moved this to a Visual Studio C# console mode .NET core project with nuget and it works fine with my cosmos client on my desktop computer...
So if I cannot run this csx script with the cosmosclient in a github workflow, how do I run your suggested alternative of using a visual studio .NET core project (to create a .exe) inside a github workflow? I know how to build a project in a github workflow, but I don't know how to run a C# program in a github workflow... Can you help me understand how to run a C# program in a github workflow that uses the cosmosclient?

2023-01-13T16:09:42.64+00:00 I'm having trouble using your suggestion to debug this because it runs fine with the debugger as a .cs in Visual Studio. I like the csx because I can run it in a github workflow. I don't know how to run an executable in a github action and this needs to run dailing in a github workflow.
Can someone help me?
