windows permissions needed to query user and group data for windows servers

I am in an audit role and need to run a powershell script to extract user and group data from a set of Windows Servers. However, I am getting access denied. Additionally I do not have the rights to even browse the user and group data from the Computer Management console. Our help desk is useless. I have had a ticket open to address the permissions issue for two weeks. Does anyone know what permissions I would need in order to query Windows Servers to extract local user and group data? Does that require admin rights? I wouldn't think it would require admin rights on the server.

Thank you for your question and reaching out. I can understand you are having issues related to Admin rights.

Please note If you want to Remotely query or Manage Computer or Server information then you should be member of below groups.

    Distributed COM Users
