Hi everyone,

Would it be possible to recall the previous name on a device on Endpoint Manager before the renaming has taken place? We would like to know the legacy device name that the device had originally before renaming them on the Endpoint Manager. Here is a screenshot for reference:

Please let us know if there are any additional questions or information you would like me to provide. Thank you!

@Victor Ng , Thanks for posting in our Q&A. From your description, I know you want to know how to find the device’s previous name in Endpoint Manager, if there is any misunderstanding, feel free to let us know.

After checking in Intune portal, under Audit log, I only find the rename activity.

Currently, in Intune portal, I didn’t find the method to get the previous name. Maybe you can open case to see if it can be found in the background. Here is a link with the steps to open case

Meanwhile, after doing more researching, I find we can check the previous name on the device side. Here is the method:

    1. Open Event Viewer
    2. Locate to Windows Logs-System.
    3. Find the event with Event ID 6011, In the Event description, it will show the device’s previous name and the new name.

    Hope it can help you.
