Hi

I heard from our patch management vendor (Baramundi) that WSUS is not supported forever and that we should switch to Mircosoft Online Updates.

I wanted to hear what you think about this. Is WSUS still the best way to update Windows servers?

Today I have a lot of servers that don't even get on the Internet. If at some point WSUS is no longer offered, this approach won't work anymore.

How is it currently recommended to update windows servers?

Regards Ainder

Your source is totally incorrect. WSUS is going to continue to be supported. It is the back-end for the SUP role of Microsoft's Premium Configuration Manager product.

While it's true that Microsoft is pushing people to switch to Microsoft Updates via Windows Update, there are many cases where Windows Update Online won't work the way it is needed by those companies and they will need an on-premise solution which is WSUS.
