Activation of Windows Server Datacenter 2022 with 2019 key

Hello,

we installed a Windows Server 2022 Evaluation edition to a virtual machine. We used a evaluation edition because we were waiting for a licence that has come with new hardware and that happened just recently. Unfortunately, the licence that came with the hardware is for Windows Server 2019 Datacenter (not 2022)

Can I use the 2019 licence key to activate the 2022 evaluation version?

No, it isn't possible to active Server 2022 with a 2019 product key. They're different SKUs. Either reinstall it with Server 2019 or you'll need to come up with the correct (2022) product key.
