Dragon software seems to work really well, when I'm using other applications. (Using Dragon to verbally dictate to this website members area without any problem!!). But as soon as I go to a PC office 365 application (Outlook, Word, Excel) Dragon very seriously slows right down and is totally unusable .
My research suggests that the problem lies with the recent updates and configuration of Outlook and word.
I rely heavily on the Dragon dictation software because of my disabilities and restricted hand movement. And really need a solution if one can be found.
Can you please help, I have completed many searches on the problem and the Nuance website seems to be indicating the problem lies with the way office 365 treats the Nuance Dragon add-on.
Any solution to the problem would be greatly received.

Are you facing this issue with other applications?
Have you tried updating the Dragon software?
I have updated Dragon to the latest version.
With regard to other applications I have tried one note, notepad, Foxit PDF reader, Google, Edge, Firefox, and all these work fine.
Google, edge, and Firefox all have add-ons that allow you to type directly into the programme. One note, and Foxit PDF reader operate by typing into a separate Dragon 'box', which then transfers to those programs. All the above are working perfectly.
With notepad I was able to dictate directly but did receive a notification error code 
with HOOKEER_NOTDAEMON on it, but didn't seem to affect my dictation going directly onto notepad.
Problem occurs every time I go to office 365 apps. Each has its own Nuance add-on which allows me to type my first sentence I dictate directly into the programme perfectly. (Same process as with the browsers; edge, chrome Etc that also use add-ons). As soon as I pause dictation then something within the programme or its environment seems to virtually stops any other activity, it's like going from a flood of active interaction, to a drip, and I can never get any further productive dictation from there on.
Not sure what else to say really, the latest update came directly from Nuance support people for Dragon. Works fine with everything else but very problematic with Word, and Outlook, the 2 programs that I use quite heavily!

Hi all, I have found this link on Knowbrainer forum # https://www.knowbrainer.com/forums/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=4&threadid=35413 # which seems to work. I don't know why but creating a new EXE link directly from ## C:\Program Files (x86)\Nuance\NaturallySpeaking15\Program\natspeak.exe ##seems to allow Dragon to work normally.
By link I mean shortcut, sorry for any confusion.

Hi Andrew, I am experiencing the same issue. Did you find that this shortcut change helped? I found it mentioned elsewhere and tried it but so far it doesn't seem to have had any effect for me. Still seeing the mad slowdown after a few minutes.
