Hi,

My network has 4 machines :

S : Windows Server 2022 ethernet connection

A : W11 Wifi

B and C : W10 ethernet

My initial plan was to create an active directory based on S, but for all sorts of reasons this is not feasible for the time being.

My problem is that :

  • whereas A, B and C can access S data
  • S can only access A data ; attempts to access B or C are rejected with error 0x80070035 .

I've noticed that all machines do not seem to give the same name to the common network they are connected to . This network being the one created by my IP box which has the DHCP function.

Any help would be appreciated

Rgds

The bad news is that there is no way to hand over to DNS function to another piece of equipment .

adding an intermediate personal NAT router box that you'll have complete control of solves this problem

Not much to go on but domain controller should have a static ip address with own static address listed for DNS and no others such as router or public DNS. It's Ok to use router for DHCP but configure the DHCP server to hand out the static ip address of DC for DNS

As I had a few minutes I looked at the router provided by my IP.
The bad news is that there is no way to hand over to DNS function to another piece of equipment .
I f I use another router I loose the TV and phone functions which come with the router provided by my IP....

I keep wondering why are things are OK with my W11/Wifi PC and not with the W10pro/ethernet PCs . What makes the difference W10 vs W11 or ethernet vs Wifi ?

Then the simplest solution may be to add an intermediate personal NAT router box that you'll have complete control of.
