update more than 1 WORD dropdown box in one document

I have a monthly calendar that I maintain with employees listed in the content control dropdown list that is within each day/cell of the table (1 dropdown list per calendar day- all the same). As those employees come and go the list needs to be updated. I'm hoping there is a way to update all of the lists at once without having to update one for every day of the year. or preferably update 1 and have the others auto-update. the calendar is not designed as a form-not by my choice. it is a .docm. I have attached a picture- i hope it comes through

We did a test and find that if use data validation in Excel then we can updated all of the list by making changes of the table. We did not find the solution of this issue in WORD.

In Word, it could be done with a macro, possibly linked to an Excel or Word file containing your list (if lengthy) or the list could simply be in the macro. It would be possible to have a UserForm that updates your list.

I expect that the Excel solution would be simpler.
