xls file cant be deleted

I have an Excel file saved on my desktop that cannot be deleted. it is from a OneDrive account that I do no not have access to as I no longer work for that company If I try to delete it, I get Error 0x8007016A "cloud file provider not running".
I don't want access I just want to delete it.....
