Is there a way to setup Ubuntu desktops within Azure Virtual Desktops, so that you could create a group of (30) desktops. The basis is a 1-to-1 relationship to desktops. Only run (1) desktop. When a user logs into that desktop, Azure will launch a second device. When User2 logs into that desktop it will launch a third, and so on.
Are we able to place the Unbuntu desktop on the web client and have it launch the desktop within the browser window as Windows Desktops do?

If your goal is to create Linux VMs for a classroom, I'd recommend looking at Azure DevTest Labs and Azure Lab Services which were created for this scenario. They both make creating and self-serving a VM easy while giving you control over limits on the resources that are used. Let me know if this sounds like it might work for you.

Azure DevTest Labs
Self-service VMs that are great for development. Allows users to quickly spin up a preconfigured VM or create their own while offering you cost and VM management tools.

Unfortunately Ubuntu OS is not supported and below is the list of OS supported in AVD Environment.

@JimmySalian-2011 That's for the pooled desktops. So doing it in a pooled notion won't work I guess.
but it appears to be a supported OS for building virtual desktops within Azure, no? It lists the image for Ubunutu 20.04 when creating a virtual desktop. Just trying to identify how this could work for creating virtual Ubuntu desktops for a class of 40-50 students.

Do you mean Virtual Machine OS - Ubuntu ? As I have verified and I cannot see Ubuntu OS image in AVD Pooled Host configuration.
Thanks Jimmy. I do understand what you're saying in that you can't use it in a pooled sense. What I'm trying to figure out is how could I give access to (30) students to each have a random virtual Ubuntu desktop.
And if we were able to create (50) virtual Ubuntu desktops, could they be placed on the web client to be launched when needed?
