Add Hard Drive to VM

I am attempting to add a SAN volume to a VM as a Physical hard disk.
The VM already has a different SAN volume added to it.

The desired volume is listed in the drop-down list; however, when attempting to add the hard drive, I receive the following error:
Error applying Hard Drive changes
Failed to add device 'Physical Disk Drive'.

The volume is offline as indicated in the information note.

Not quite sure what I'm doing wrong. Appreciate any assistance.

    Hi @Brandon Williams ,

Please add another IDE or SCSI controller and see if the physical disk can be added under this new controller.

You can also try to remove and re-add the DVD drive according to the same issue through here

While researching the problem, I came across this page (https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/312cffad-b601-40be-a34b-073ee515cfd4/having-the-error-0x80070569-when-adding-new-vm-on-hyper-v).

I figured it couldn't hurt so I ran a "gpupdate /force" and it worked.
I was able to return to my starting position and even complete the original goal of adding more storage.

Hope this helps if anyone encounters a similar problem in the future.
