Is the NSG located in the same subscription and region as the VM/NIC? They should be in order to associate the NSG with the NIC

    Hi,

It is possible to be a compatibility issue.

Are the VMs/vnet/nic created some time ago or not in the portal?

You can try the other way around - go to your existing resource and try to create the NSG from there. Maybe it will force the correct version.

    Hope this helps!
