New User can't access VM via RDP

Question

I added a new contributor role user to an existing VM in Azure, but when I try to use Azure login creds to access the VM, I "Your Credentials did not work". I did reset the user password and still didn't work. The user does login to Azure as expected and has all the needed roles to access the VM. Should I restart the VM for the new user to be recognized?
