After the most recent update of either Win11 or VS (I think it's the former), my VS 2022 neither displays a Print Preview nor does it have an option to print only the "Selection" from an editor. I am sure this ability was present before.

If you have a few lines selected when you invoke File, Print, you should see the Page Range options in the Print dialog have "Selection" enabled.
Thats the problem! First, if I select a few lines, there is no option in the Page Range area for "Selection". And, there's no print preview! I think this occurred after the 22H2 win 11 update
I still have that option with the current VS 2022 17.5.0 preview 1 and I'm stuck on an older version of Windows 11 21H2, so maybe it is something that's changed with the OS.
Have you checked if you've got the latest printer driver for your printer - or whether using a different type of printer may alter the situation?
Three of my dev computers, all 22H2 and 17.4.1. None have a print preview nor ability to print a "Selection"
On my PC with 21H2 I still have the older Win32 style Print dialog:

This is VS 2022 17.4.1 running on Win 11 22H2. You can see I have selected text but there is no option to print "Selection". And, No Print Preview Available.

Thank you for sharing the screenshot, but looks like it’s still a png or jpg picture, instead of a .gif picture. Could you please double-check this and share the .gif picture again?

I am absolutely certain that what I sent you is a .gif.
The is a critical problem for me. Please let me know what you need to move this forward.
In addition, the repro of this is simple. Open VS 2022 14.4.1 on a Win 11 22H2 computer. Create a new solution (I did a WPF). Then, open the MainWindow.xaml.cs file, select some text and then click File\Print. That's it. So much more information than a screen shot.

I did some tests(tested on two machines with Win11 22H2, one reproduced the issue, the other still displayed the old Print window, also tested by printing characters in a single txt file) and I can partly confirm this issue.
As most likely the issue is affected by Windows 11 OS, I will help to add windows-11 tag, and I recommend also submitting a ticket on Windows Community for better help. In case the "preview" feature was changed in newly version of VS 2022, I suggest you report this issue on our Developer Community too.

PS. Yes, it's Windows 11 new print dialog now applied universally to all apps by default.

That issue is now closed and there is still no print preview or print selection in Visual Studio!
