enable azure automation start / stop during

Jason Lawrence 1 Reputation point

I need someone to help me set-up Automatic start / stop of my VM during non-working hours. I am not a computer expert and despite reading thousands of web pages and trying everything they suggest, it still will not work.

I am at least now getting notified that the Stop action has failed every day, but there is nothing to tell me why....

Has anyone ever managed to get this feature working?

@Jason Lawrence Welcome to Microsoft Q & A Community Forum. I understand you would like to use Start\Stop solution manage your virtual machines. From the information provided, it's not clear whether you are using Start/Stop V1 solution or Start/Stop V2 solution. Can you please let me know which version are you using? I have added respective references and troubleshooting docs.

Start/Stop v1 version : Start/Stop VM during off-hours, version 1 is currently being deprecated and will be unavailable from the marketplace soon. We recommend that you start using version 2, which is now generally available. The new version offers all existing capabilities and provides new features, such as multi-subscription support from a single Start/Stop instance. If you have the version 1 solution already deployed, you can still use the feature, and we will provide support until further announcement.

Start/Stop v2 version: This version is independent of Azure Automation.
