I decided to uninstall the free version of Norton Antivirus that came with my new Acer 3. I read several sites about doing this. All said I should use the Norton Removal Tool available on Support.Norton.Com. I went to this site and found there was no such tool. The only similar tool available was the Norton Removal and Reinstall Tool. So, I used this to uninstall the Norton Antivirus on my computer. The Antivirus Program has been uninstalled, and no longer appears in my Programs list. Now, I am running Windows Defender. Windows reports that my computer is now Protected and all parts of it have a green check box on them. However, I am repeatedly getting popups on my screen from Norton telling me to reinstall a new version of their program. There appear to be two utilities that are displayed on my desktop. They are Norton Install Manager and Norton Install. I can't get rid of them. Does anyone know how to uninstall these utilities and get Norton to stop displaying their annoying popup. The popup is quite large and covers the center of my desktop. I have repeatedly clicked the large "X" in the upper right hand corner, but it won't budge. Norton is insisting I go back to their Antivirus it seems. Does anyone know how to get rid of this Norton annoyance?

Using the "SymNRT" utility (Norton Removal Tool)
Thanks Andre: The third suggestion you offered gave a notice 'no such article found'. The first item you offered is the same tool I used. The second item offered I downloaded it and saved it to downloads. I will try it as a last resort. The Norton Anti Virus program has already been removed. I just want the utilities gone and the pop up gone as well. I just wonder if that download will do the trick with the utilities. Thanks for your help.
Thanks. I must confess I am a bit nervous about using a non-Norton program. I am new to all this so I take every precaution quite literally. I read several cautions about using or going to non-Norton sites because the downloads may be malware or infected. Thanks for you help, anyway.
This is a safe tool (no malware etc) to use used by lots of people. Never heard anything because of this..The experts in this forum recommend this tool for uninstallation issues.
Anyway, I would suggest that you use it as last resort.
This tool is a general uninstaller not for Norton only.
