Hello,

We currently have the problem that copying different file types (e. g. docx or pdf) from Windows 10 or 11 to a Windows 2019 fileshare does not work. Other file types (e. g. jpg or txt) work without problems. The permissions are set to Write so users can only write but not make any changes. The non-working file types can be copied from Windows 7 without problems. I also found an article that has similar problems (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/301607/windows-server-2019-folder-permission-problem.html).

Does anyone have a solution?

Thank you!

    does not work

What error do you get? I assume that you are using the Windows explorer, have you tried other methods, like robocopy or a cmd prompt copy?

Did you grant "write extended attributes" as the other user commented? I also see a "write attributes" in the advanced permissions, did you grant that?

Have you tried granting Modify access and then adding a Deny entry for delete?

    Hi,

Is File Server Resource Manager installed on your server? If so, open FSRM from the server Manager and make sure the docx and pdf files are not screened.
