I would like to use Powershell in order to import a site collection into a live server. However, when I open SharePoint Online Management PowerShell in admin mode, I get this message below. What is the cause and what would I need to do to rectify this?

Exception calling "GetEndOfSupportMessage" with "3" argument(s): "Login failed for user 'LINGUALISTEK\tking'."
At C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server
Extensions\16\CONFIG\POWERSHELL\Registration\SharePoint.ps1:12 char:1

  • $adminWebApp.GetEndOfSupportMessage($false, [ref]$endOfSupportSeverit ...
  • ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  • CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (:) [], MethodInvocationException
  • FullyQualifiedErrorId : SqlException

After this issue is solved, I believe the correct commands to back up the site would be as follows

Backup-SPSite -Identity "http://devsite" -Path "C:\backup\portal.bak" -Force -NoSiteLock -Confirm:$False

and then I would just copy the backup file to the live server: put it in -Path "C:\backup", then use this SharePoint Server 2019 Management shell command to restore this site collection from the PC location:

Restore-SPSite "http://livesite" -Path "C:\backup\portal.bak" -Force -Confirm:$False

I don't know what you mean by "opening SHarePoint in admin mode". Once you have the cmdlet you should be using Connect-SPOService to connect to the Sharepoint instance. That requires credentials. Based upon the error it appears the credentials you're using aren't correct. However the docs indicate that if you have a connection error you should enable modern authentication and it discusses how to do that.
