Is there a known solution for "Failed to download VS Code" message -- .NET Coding Pack installation

Hello, I am looking to move into .NET with C# to expand my skillset. I am receiving a "Failed to download VS Code" message almost immediately within the .NET Coding Pack installation dialog box, after I click "Next" on the License overview page.

I was optimistic the .NET Coding Pack would provide a seamless way to install an initial development environment without the hassle of needing to separately download/install extensions, etc. My background is in database development within Unix/Linux supporting a J2EE application, with a fair amount of distant past experience using VBA (especially within MS Access). I do not have great "system" skills or intuition, so even downloading/installing the VSCode Code Editor and the .NET SDK is something I'd rather not fuss with. I will muscle through it if I need to, but I'd be super happy if the message I am getting is a known issue with a simple solution.

Thank you for your reply. I must admit that the "Community" is so vast, with so many subtopics, that it is very difficult to navigate. If I could zoom out a bit with a question: where is the best place to get support specifically for the Learn to Code initiative. From everything I can see, Microsoft would like encourage use of this resource, and all I am looking for is the ability seamlessly use what is intended to be a "one-stop" installation of multiple components that, together, create this learning/training environment.

I would argue that the "Learn to Code" .NET coding pack is the subject of my inquiry rather than Visual Studio specifically. Is there an area dedicated to or assigned to answering inquiries related to the Learn To Code initiative?

If, in the end, I need to piece together my environment (exactly what the .NET coding pack is intended to help me avoid), I can work through that. But obviously, I'd prefer the experience be easier, as it seems the Learn to Code program intends.
