Replacing a failed network switch in Teams

After adding all of the network switches and their ports, and their ports are mapped to "places" for e911, what if a switch fails and needs replaced? Currently Teams is using "Chassis ID" to add or import switches into Networks & Locations so if a switch needs replaced the "Chassis ID" will be different on the new switch. So now what? Do we have to remove all ports on the switch, then remove the switch, then add the new one, add it's ports with locations? When we replace a switch we keep the same "system name" and ip address, and ports patch one for one to new switch. So if MS Teams used "system name" instead of Chassis ID, I don't believe we would have to do anything on the teams side of things.

What are other folks doing when needing to replace a switch?

Can we modify what the Teams Client is getting from LLDP for E911 purposes, so it shows "System Name" and port matching?

thanks,
