Is "create a rule" in SharePoint the same as Power Automate?

Hello; I am trying to find out if the "create a rule"/"manage rules" section of SharePoint for lists is considered Power Automate or not? I want an alert emailed when there is a change in the SharePoint list, but I am not allowed to use Power Automate to do so for my company.

With thanks,
Jolyn Johnson

    @Jolyn Johnson

    Yes, Automate-Rules is for Power Automate.

    You could set alert to get an alert email when there is a change in the SharePoint list. Click Alert me -> Make a new alert.

    @Jolyn Johnson I know it's 2 years old but PowerAutomate and Rules aren't the same thing! Additionally, Alerts are being retired July 2026, and Rules are the recommended approach to replace them.

    Thank you; not the answer I was hoping for, but it is good to know this.
